Watari was created in 1986 as a response to the lack of services and programs available for high-risk street involved youth in Vancouver. Since then, Watari has helped thousands of people in the Downtown Eastside and the surrounding communities. Consistently advocating for vulnerable people, Watari has had a large and lasting positive impact on the community.

Help us help
We rely on the help and support of our community to make a difference in the lives of the people we encounter in our work. Donations, grants and in-kind gifts are greatly appreciated and a tax receipt will be available for gifts over $20.00. All donations are used to improve direct service, or to remove barriers to those who seek help, through Watari’s Youth, Adult and Community Counselling Programs!
